Our Story – Made for Homes, Inspired by Women

Kachcha Aam was born from a simple belief:
no two women are the same, so why should their homes be?

Our founder, Priya, began her journey with a deep love for textiles and a growing frustration with the “one-style-fits-all” approach of the home décor industry. After studying textiles and working across different jobs, she realised something was missing — freedom to customize, freedom to express, and freedom to decorate homes in a way that feels personal.

Homes are emotional spaces. They hold our routines, our chaos, our celebrations and our quiet moments. Priya wanted to create a brand that helped women design spaces that truly felt like themselves — colourful, layered, warm and full of stories.

And that’s how Kachcha Aam was born in July 2020 — a women-led home décor brand focused on customized, handmade and soulful soft furnishings for Indian homes and modern lifestyles.

Why the Name “Kachcha Aam”?

Yes, it means raw mango — and no, that’s not accidental.

Kachcha Aam reminds us of childhood summers, dadi-nani ke haath ka achaar, and kitchens full of laughter and spice. In Indian culture, pickles have been part of our food and history for over 4,000 years — and raw mango is the heart of it all.

Just like achaar adds flavor to every meal, Kachcha Aam adds personality to your home.
