Kachcha Aam started with a very simple thought — I wanted to make homes a little more colourful, joyful and personal. But somewhere along the way, it became about so much more than just beautiful things for the home.

Every piece you see here is made in small batches, by hand, with the help of local women artisans. For me, handmade isn't just a way of making things. It is a way of creating livelihoods, encouraging financial independence and keeping beautiful traditional skills alive.

I also believe in keeping things transparent with you.

You may notice that our packaging isn't designed to look excessively luxurious or elaborate. I would rather put that time, money and thought into the product itself — into the fabric, the little details, the finishing and the hands that make it. I want your Kachcha Aam piece to feel personal, not just premium.

Because we make things in small batches and by hand, our dispatch timelines may sometimes be a little longer than what you're used to with larger businesses. The availability of certain colours and materials can also change from one batch to another.

So, if you're looking for something at the very last minute, we may not always be the right choice for you. We don't like rushing an order simply to increase our numbers. We'd much rather take a little extra time and make it neatly, carefully and with love.

And because every piece passes through human hands, two pieces may not be perfectly identical. There can be tiny differences in colour, finishing or detailing. They are never major, but they are part of what makes handmade special. A little imperfection is not a flaw here — it is a reminder that your piece was actually made by someone, not a machine.

Our fabrics are also chosen very thoughtfully. We look beyond just how something looks in a photograph — we think about the comfort, warmth, texture and personality it can bring into your space. So you may sometimes find that our fabrics or finishes are different from what you see in mass-produced home décor. We hope you choose them for the feeling they bring to your home, rather than simply comparing them piece-for-piece with what is available elsewhere.
